Depths of Grey

I searched for you in a blanket of dreams,

A world of satin, weak in woven silk,

Through chambers of stone, pleasures hidden ghost.

 ———-

A castle of nectar masks your desire,

Set in a molten cloak of emerald thread,

Forbidden grief keeps my love captive.

———–

Somewhere coiled in twilight’s dark element,

A lover’s light intoxicates my gaze.

A prism of fire caught in a ruby web.

 ———–

The chariot of delight calls me on,

Bringing alabaster horses of fire,

I gasp as the sapphire sunrise greets me.

———-

In depths of grey I now discover you,

Greeted with fullness, possessed with passion,

My desire satisfied forever.

  1. I like the imagery you use in this poem “A prism of fire caught in a ruby web” is just one excellent line in many.

  2. A passionate piece. Nuances but northing grey!

  3. Mary says:

Grey often is the color of dreams, I think…..and sometimes in the depth of dreams we find what we do not have in real life (thinking of your last stanza…with desire satisfied forever). Well expressed.

So beautiful! It felt like a dance. One being woven in and out of the web, the ruby one!
