And knows what to expect
But sometimes
I surprise her!
She can recite my cumbersome phrases
Laugh at my morbid puns
See through the bluster
As I rampage through life
Hour by hour
Devoted affection
She encourages my hunger
Without crushing my hope
Indulging my dreams
She can read me like a book.
