I waited for you to appear

The horizon was empty

The landscape desolate

Everything felt weary.

Where were you?

I shouted for you to hear

My words just echoed back

Lost in a mirror of silence

Everything felt dark.

Where were you?

I cried out for you to act

To rescue me from the pit

Reach down beyond my terror

Everything felt lost.

Where were you?

I searched for you for a time

But I have a confession

When I could not find you

I gave up the mission

I forgot about you

Everything felt broken

Sad and poignant. A poem anyone who has loved and lost can relate to.

  2. Kris says:

It is certainly no fun to be broken. I hope that you are able to be mended.

  3. That was beautifully done.

I could just see you standing there, waiting as the world turned gray and cloudy. Standing there looking but not seeing what was wanted. I felt very sad for you but then as I read further I felt as if it was so many other things that you were looking for. Not just a person or for love but I felt as if you could not find a lot of things that you wanted. But that at least you had a chance for those things and maybe you would not be as broken as you felt at that moment. At least I hoped not. Really a great poem.

Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us for this weeks Theme Thursday. May your weekend be blessed with lots of love and joy and other things you enjoy.

    God bless.
