Stones

Ancient stones cry out and silence answers
From that deep foundation placed into time
It claims the cold, and woven through the years
Mercy softens the heart, found in granite
And cast within a seam of forgiveness.

    I love the metaphorical allusion here, and the interweaving of mercy through the years – where would we be without it? (I shudder to think…)
