Calm and cold, hides the splendor freezing
Kingdom’s treasure now contained within
Succulent pleasure taste buds pleasing
Ice-cream delight, overwhelming sin.
——–
Coveting eyes, forever teasing
Wonder if I will ever be thin
Crawling inside, guilt at last easing
Discover all I fancy therein.

I do understand the guilty pleasure of coveting ice cream. My weakness would be turtle sundae….l try to escape by just driving by, though occasionally I indulge and repent later. Smiles.
I love ice creams and sorbets! I manage to resist ice creams, most of the time. As for sorbets, they are actually not as fattening as cakes so I indulge every now and again. Your poem made me smile.
ah it turns bittersweet….when one does not understand their image and self worth and life becomes wrapped in guilt….very nice thump in this one…partcularly through the first part and the internal rhyme…
The ice cream doesn’t last long in our house!
luv your rhyming; have a nice Wednesday
much love…
That darn refrigerator and its temptations.
I cant buy Ice cream or I eat it all…no way to let be in the ref. very long at all…..not a good thing but a great poem!!
I love ice cream, too… but not in the winter… brrr!
I like this reflection–and I too really like ice cream. But I particularly like how you brought in the guilt and satisfaction in the second part!
Coveting ice cream…I can definitely relate to that one! This is wonderful!
I am so with you re the ice cream and the wondering if one will ever be thin (we dont really want to know the answer! smiles)
Refrigerator as temptress … yep, that about sums it up for me!
you’ll never reach thinness heaven eating pleasurable things from your fridge. Enjoy!
