The child was last seen
In the hopes of the extraordinary
Wondering at the lost reflection.
Blue freezing cry
Red from the light
The moment can never be made up,
Shed your tears now,
It will save time later,
For things can change much
Viewed through the prism of hope
As stares touch mercy
And bear the scars of grace.

“As stares touch mercy and bear the scars of grace”- Profound.
Yes, the things may change or it may feel like they have changed, once looked through the prism of hope. Well thought.
this is beautiful.. 🙂
I like the idea that things can change much, all the more so as your poem suggests they might change for the better if seen through the prism of hope.
viewed through the prism of hope…i like that…and things can change…and change rather quickly….
I like the idea of a prism of hope as well. Using such a prism we can see things in a different light and perhaps find a new path!
Hope….one word that the world is clinging on to and moving on…this was a profound take…loved it!
Made me think of those cardboard kaleidoscopes that we had as children..one click and the magic stopped..those hopeful moments are so fragile..
The opening lines made me sad…but I was comforted with the prism of hope ~
Leaning upon hope can help to ease the pain of injury or the sadness which presents itself in front of us. The ability to see another side, or outcome can raise hope within.
You do give hope to the lost in an extraordinary way. Beautiful vision. Thanks Alan!
‘The moment can never be made up,’ ~ thanks for reminding to stay in present and be grateful for whatever happened…the hope supports us and helps to grow…~ wise poem.
Hope really can be everything! If there is hope, there is life, there is a future, there is another chance for fulfillment and happiness. All that you have said here is profound … but hope, that is the best.
…no wasted lines here for each has essence in bringing this piece at its best….” Shed your tears now, / It will save time later, / For things can change much / Viewed through the prism of hope..”—these are the most remarkable lines to me… smiles…
This made me wonder at the back story – very deep. I especially love the “prism of hope”.
a reflective piece!
We all should have a “prism of hope”! It sure would save time from tears if we could keep hope that better times were ahead!
What an amazing piece, those last two lines are great.
Wow! Awesome writing, Alan!
