Tonight

Tonight I talked in the pub with Brian

Of summers playing cricket as lads

Of shouting preachers on God TV

Of internet discussion

Of body, soul and spirit

Of ying and yang

Of  premiership predictions

Of days of laughter

Of moments of affection

Of years of friendship

And he cannot fail to see

That it is impossible

To set aside such bonds

Forged in the furnace of laughter

And the hope of expectations,

fueled with the cherished dream

and the love of Christ.

For some things are beyond words

and will last for eternity.
