The rain is cold
Veiled stars
Violet lights
Flint diamonds
Beautiful cracks in time
Will wake
Will hold
Will enter
Will herald the dawn
Crimson hearts
Broken and rescued
Healed
Restored
In the merciful rain

I enjoyed your evocation of the rain and its healing and cleansing qualities, Alan. I like the idea that in the end we are ‘restored’.
Beautiful imagery in this one Alan.
nice…made me think of the song healing rain…
yes it makes for a great metaphor
of cleansing for sure…smiles.
Oh, I like the way you have stressed the restorative nature of rain. We do need to be rescued by it sometime, don’t we? I have a feeling that this poem can be taken on a few different levels.
Yes rain is merciful restoring life….beautiful imagery here….
Alan, this is quite lovely. Gentle, restorative, hopeful.
Rain does restore so much.
This is very beautiful – lovely images.
Rain can be destructive as a consequence but a relief and lifeline in a different context. Good one alan!

This is lovely and called for a second read on my part. Nice that you can think of rain being restorative in a part of the world I picture having quite a lot of rain most of the time. Does make for a lovely green countryside.
Rain destroys and restores. Loved the concept.
Makes me think of when you get so drenched in the rain you don’t care anymore and it just feels so invigorating and liberating..maybe spiritually it is too..beautiful crisp imagery
ah! you got some; good write; and thank you for dropping in at y blog
much love…
Loved this. Rescued and restored mercifully.
Beautiful, evocative rain images.
“Healed
Restored
In the merciful rain” – so true. As water is vital to life: Rain is merciful.
I love your ending … merciful rain, the universal cleansing baptism that renews and rejuvenates …
Merciful rain, a lovely message Alan ~
Rain as the absolver of all hurts – lovely thought. A wonderful piece, Alan!
This poem feels so redemptive and healing. Thanks for sharing this. :0)
