Erosion
–
Silent as a
falling raindrop
–
Every second
a slow
unremarkable
descent.

Beware
of secrets.

ugh….secrets can def. cause erosion in a relationship… better to play with open cards and talk about things
Oh yes, secrets can really eat up a relationship from the inside.
Alan, why don’t you link this to Poets United Poetry Pantry?
This in its brevity says so much.. Those secrets are the weed of our gardens.
slow and sure growth to kill…
secrets are certainly killers
and they erode slowly but steadily
Very intriguing. Well penned.
I like the feel of this, its darkness. Very creative way to warn against corroding secrets.
Secrets can erode a relationship, slowly over time ~ Good one Alan ~
It is cool when a poem says so much in so few lines…….intriguing write, Alan.
Intriguing. Open to interpretation. Secrets can indeed be damaging. Much said in a few words.
Secrets are rarely a good thing. I like the idea of erosion you use, a slow but ongoing process.
i loved the structure of this poem, unassuming, as secrets tend to be.
great stuff!
This has the feel of Eastern poetry – the haiku/ tanka style phrasing is very effective.
Stark and true, you convey the reality that secrets, like lies, destroy.
Even though we know this, we still keep secrets.
