Inside this portrait
A colour of freedom
A soothing deep within,
In a golden brush stroke
An eternal healing hope
Outside the cemetery gates
Citrine sapphires,
Revealing perishable life
Dissolving fears
Drowned in crystal love
Within these doors
A saffron aroma
Touching my eyes,
Filling my soul,
Fragile golden dreams.
Inside this season
Every day is changing
Deeping autumn
Immersed in mercy
Glorious crimson grace

Such beautiful imagery in this poem, Alan……I love the “eternal healing hope”. The sapphires, the crystal love. And, especially your beautiful closing line. Wonderful writing!
So many colours and precious gems in these lines – is there a hidden meaning?
Wonderful to contemplate the “glorious crimson grace,” Alan. An excellent portrait.
I like all the colors in this, each conveying something different. A pleasure to read.
You do such wonderful things with color and evoking a cascade of color images and aspects that is transcendent, really. Another lovely piece, Alan.
I like the idea of the ‘saffron aroma’ as well as the colors in your poem, Alan.
