Heartbeat

pulse

Moment by moment

Relentless the melody held inside

Unnoticed the place of isolation

Softly beckons me to come and abide

A quickening of glory

A sudden expectation

Imprisoned

Sometimes

I feel it

Aware

Of my mortality

Every beat

Every breath

Every breeze

Feel my pulse

Sense my pain

Time is short

Sit and exhale

The breath of God

Fire so sweet

Close my eyes

Fear retreat

Electricity stirring

My heartbeat

    Hi Alan,

Oh my, this was truly wonderful. So much said with one word on a line. My favorite was “The breath of God, Fire so sweet”. I think that we sometimes just tune out our heartbeat and you have written why we should listen to it.

Thanks for sharing this for our Theme Thursday Rhythm week. It truly is a very rhythmic poem for this weeks prompt. Hope your are having a restful weekend and taking care of your heart.

    God bless.
