Violet shadows
Windows warn
Ghostly moths swarm in expectation
Dancing on the edge
Summers forlorn moon
Steal the light
As rust on branches
Crackled and burned
Mauve petals of twilight
Suddenly
The threshold of the moment
Crimson legends of the night
Scarlet and golden
Steal the dawn
Perishing candles flicker
The mirror holds the presence
And the stars are hidden
Lost forever in
Violet shadows.

I could visualize the night and day canvases painted with colors of meditation…beautiful Alan…
Solitude relates so much to the shadows.. and the violet is such a moody color to relate to this.
i like how you address it, really setting the scene and letting us see and feel it in our surroundings…well done alan….
its all in the shadows, down to the perishing flicker of the candle, i luv the resonance through out
much love…
It would be very sad if stars were hidden forever, wouldn’t it? We definitely need them to guide us along our way….
I like how you used color imagery to convey meaning and atmosphere.
violet shadows and perishing candles… ominously beautiful
Love these moments of transformation ‘Crimson legends of the night Scarlet and golden
Steal the dawn’ ~ magical poem
Perishing candles flicker
The mirror holds the presence
And the stars are hidden
One can feel the despondence in the flickering light to end up in shadows. Perfect picture conveyed Alan!
Hank
so liked the mood to this and all the wonderful texture
So many very beautiful images in this. Wonderful.
Love, love, love the colors you used here! Moody and beautiful.
Alan,
An image of transition and movement. The impact upon our comfort and security can be immense. Starlight adds a contentment and a pleasing light source…A deightful poem, which could be set to a musical background…
Eileen
I could see a beautiful background image for this and some nice background music…atmosphere galore!
A beautiful, visual piece. “Summers forlorn moon Steal the light” really resonated with me. I thought the words were an inspired articulation of solitude . . . brilliantly captured.

Loneliness
Violet shadows – painters love using that color in paintings as it sets a mood just as it does here in your poem!
The beautiful expressions gave life to the different phases. Awesome fluidity!!
